Osage Orange Sharpshooters
CMP "John C. Garand" Match Entry Form

In 2007 the Osage Orange Sharpshooters Club will sponsor 2 John C. Garand matches certified by the Civilian Marksmanship Program (CMP) for as-issued .30 caliber rifles.

Registration: For Advance registration, use this form. Day-of-match registration accepted up to the capacity of the range. Advance registration is encouraged. Range capacity is 40 shooters, 20 per relay.

Rules: This match will be run according to CMP rules for as-issued service rifles. The M1 Garand, M1 Carbine, '03 Springfield, and P17 Enfield are legal rifles for this match. Rifles may be checked for compliance.

Rifles and Ammunition: Competitors will be issued 55 rounds of USGI ammunition, either .30-06 or .30 Carbine. Clips will not be issued. Loaner M1 Garands and Carbines are available at no charge. Please call to reserve a loaner rifle.

Course of Fire: CMP 'B' match, 5 strings of fire at 100 yards. Competitors will be given a 3 minute preparation period before each string, and new targets will be hung after each string. Target SR-1 will be used in all strings

String 1: Maximum of five (5) sighting rounds, any position(s), 5 minutes.
String 2: Twenty (20) shots for record, slow fire, prone position, 20 minutes. Single loading of each round is mandatory. Use of the sling is permitted.
String 3: Ten (10) shots for record, rapid fire, standing to prone, 70 seconds. Clip or magazine change during the string is mandatory. Use of the sling is permitted.
String 4: Ten (10) shots for record, rapid fire, standing to sitting, 60 seconds. Clip or magazine change during the string is mandatory. Use of the sling is permitted.
String 5: Ten (10) shots for record, slow fire, standing position, 10 minutes. Single loading of each round is mandatory. Use of the sling is not permitted.

Scoring: Competitors will be squaded in two relays. The second relay will score the targets of first relay shooters, and vice versa. Score sheets will be provided.
Awards: Scores and awards will be announced after the completion of all shooting.
