About
20 club members and new shooters braved the expected rain showers
to show up at the Andy Dalton Range Complex for the Fall 2001
John C. Garand Match. |
|
Before the fun begins, Match Director Bill Corcoran (leaning
against post) gives all shooters a rundown of the course of fire.
As always, safety is stressed. |
|
First match, 20 rounds, slow fire from the prone position. |
|
Everybody needed a piece of carpet or a shooting mat to
lay on today. The ground was pretty soggy. |
|
Time to change targets.
Fortunately the wind was not blowing. There was barely enough
time to shoot the 2 relays without having to contend with "cease
fires" due to blown over target stands. |
|
Sitting, Rapid Fire. |

"I love the smell of 4895 in the morning...... " |

Standing, what seperates the men from the boys... |
|
Notice anything unusual about this photo of me shooting the Prone
Rapid stage?? |
I'd given my digital camera to James
Thorn and asked him to take a few photos of me shooting. It was
not until I'd gotten back home and downloaded the images to my
computer that I discovered this one.
See the expanded view below.... |
|
This was immediately after my second shot during the Prone
Rapid string.
See the 2 shot clip frozen in midair directly above the breech
and the LC-69 brass case about a foot over the muzzle.....
Good shot James.

If you were not there, you missed a really
good match....... |
